Saira is a Vice President and counsel at BNP Paribas where she focuses on securities services, clearing and the implementation of programs necessitated by the Dodd Frank Act. Saira graduated cum laude from Fordham University School of Law and received her B.A. in politics with high honors and psychology from New York University.
NEHAL SIDDIQUI / Vice President
Nehal is a Senior Counsel at Ernst and Young in the Contracts and Transactions practice group. Previously, Nehal was a senior associate in the Corporate group of Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy where her practice focused on mergers and acquisitions and private equity transactions. Nehal received her BBA from Emory University in 2006 and her JD from the George Washington University Law School in 2009.
UMAIR KHAN / Treasurer
Umair serves as counsel to New York City Public Advocate Letitia James. He handles a number of litigation and policy matters including: healthcare, technology, and telecommunications. He also was appointed by the Public Advocate to serve as a trustee of the $57 billion New York City Employees' Retirement System and as her representative on the Audit Committee of The City of New York. Umair is a graduate of Albany Law School, where he was an Associate Editor on the Albany Government Law Review. He received his bachelors in Government and Near Eastern Studies from Cornell University.
SAYEDA ABBAS / Secretary
Sayeda is a public interest attorney, fighting for low-income clients that cannot afford legal assistance. She is a Housing Staff Attorney at Manhattan Legal Services, and litigates to protect the rights of low-income tenants in New York City. She has been a long time advocate for justice for the poor and prior to housing, she practiced in the areas of asylum and consumer protection. She received her law degree from Brooklyn Law School and her Bachelors in the areas of Political Science, Psychology, and Spanish from Rutgers University.
