MISSION STATEMENT
Recognizing the unique needs and interests of Muslim attorneys, as well as the special role that Muslim attorneys play in the many communities of New York, a group of lawyers and law students established the Muslim Bar Association of New York in 2006. The objectives of this non-profit professional association are:

Q: What is MuBANY?
The Muslim Bar association of New York (MuBANY) is a member-driven bar association open to any interested lawyer or law student. MuBANY was created in 2006 to serve the educational, professional, and social needs of Muslim legal professionals and law students living and working in the New York metropolitan area. MuBANY accomplishes this by organizing educational, networking, and professional development events and services, by building relationships with other bar associations and legal organizations, and by assisting members of the larger New York Muslim community.
MuBANY has a vibrant email listserv with daily news, announcements, referrals, and job postings. Interested lawyers and law students are encouraged to join the listserv.

Through networking events, educational seminars, career development panels, mentorship program, community advocacy campaigns, legal referrals, job announcements, and other activities, MuBANY strives to provide a full range of services to Muslim lawyers and students. Q: Who are MuBANY's Members?
MuBANY's membership and leadership consists of a range of Muslim lawyers and students from a variety of practice areas and schools. Our membership includes large, mid-size, and small firm attorneys, solo practitioners, government attorneys at the local and state levels, and their work covers the spectrum from complex civil litigation to real estate law. Our members are law students, practicing attorneys with U.S. law degrees, and overseas-trained attorneys with LLM degrees.
We are a diverse group of attorneys and law students who come from different backgrounds. Our organization welcomes people of all faiths or no faith and those with different heritages, ethnicities and affiliations.

Members get discounts to MuBANY sponsored events, CLE programs, and other services. Members also have premium display in our attorney directory and exclusive access to certain programs.
